Artifacts

Within the walls of the six buildings and throughout the grounds
are thousands of artifacts that depict past day - to - day involvement in
lumbering, farming, navigation, community service groups, maple syrup
production, homemaking, and period pastimes. Donor labels identify which
Island family is associated with each item. Everything is accepted in an
"as is" condition so visitors can see the natural wear that comes with normal use.


This 8000 lbs. White Pine log is an example of
the huge trees that once covered St. Joseph Island.
